Getting Started With Home Care for Veterans

Homemaker and Health Aide Care

If you need in-home care support services (errands, meal preparation, grooming, going to the bathroom, etc.) — and you’re eligible for Homemaker and Home Health Aide Care —our compassionate caregivers are ready to support you. Spouses of Veterans may be entitled to respite care, which helps renew the energy of dedicated family caregivers.
Qualifying Veterans may also have benefits that cover more advanced needs through VA Health Care. This could include at-home infusions, wound care, physical therapy and disease management for conditions like diabetes — among other medical support. These services are typically categorized as Skilled Home Health Care or Skilled Nursing.

There are three initial minimum requirements to be eligible for the Veterans home care program:

  • The Veteran must be enrolled in VA Health Care
  • You have a doctor’s order to receive home care services
  • You are eligible for Community Care and there is availability with a contracted home care provider in your area
We know that being in familiar surroundings provides your family member with a sense of independence and dignity – while also receiving the right care for their needs with a compassionate caregiver looking out for their health and safety. Our dedication to quality through Joint Commission accreditation and registered nurse involvement every step of the way gives families peace of mind that their loved ones are experiencing the best care possible.
